The literary production of Frieda von Bülow, a German writer who lived between 1857 and 1909, offers a social and cultural cross-section of Germany in an era of profound changes, casting an eye on the female and imperialist perspective of the late nineteenth century. Francesca Ottavio is a contract professor of German literature at the University of Calabria, where she obtained a PhD in 2019. Her studies focus on colonial Germany starting from the works of Frieda von Bülow.
