Funny things. Una biografia a fumetti su Charles M. Schulz

by Debus, Luca, Matteuzzi, Francesco
Funny things. Una biografia a fumetti su Charles M. Schulz

Charles M. Schulz is probably the most popular and influential cartoonist of all time, and over the fifty years that the Peanuts have been published, he has incorporated many of his emotions and experiences into his strip. Luca Debus and Francesco Matteuzzi pay homage to the master by telling his story through the language that made him immortal: the comic strip. Page after page, each strip offers a smile and a fragment of this extraordinary artist’s existence. Beginning with the last moments of his monumental career, Funny Things jumps back and forth in time to recount both Schulz’s creative achievements and the episodes in his private life that shaped him as a human being and as an artist. Readers will discover how real life inspired the iconic Peanuts mythology (such as Schulz’s love of baseball, classical music, a red-haired girl and a black-and-white dog that could be smarter than any person), delving into the themes of his great religious faith, his lonely moments, his immense creative drive and his complex family life. Fascinating and full of affection and touching moments, Funny Things looks at Schulz through the lens of his own art, inviting us to get to know the creator of some of the best-loved characters ever.
