The book is the result of a three years research in many anti- violence centres and gathers ten women testimonies (chosen between more than 100 women interviewed) that have been violated by friends, husbands or partners. These women tell their stories of unconceivable violence, put on paper by the victims themselves. Anna Macrì collects their pain, their honesty and their rawness; they went through resignation, maternal instincts, statements, guilt, fear of others’ judgment and depression. Settled on the pages, their sorrow and their reports of violence condemn men that aren’t able to build adult relationships and mutual respect towards their partners, even in ordinary and normal settings.
