Claudia Durastanti at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) 2024
The Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) is the main publishing event in the Spanish-speaking world and one of the most important globally, with the participation of more than 2,000 publishing houses.
The 38th edition of the Fair, from 30 November to 8 December 2024, will have Spain as guest of honour and will receive more than 850 writers from 43 countries,
Youth literature will play a central role and special attention will also be devoted to comics.
Italy will participate again this year with its own pavilion, created through the collaboration between ITA, the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Mexico City, in which a number of Italian publishers will be present. Writer Claudia Durastanti will present her latest book Missitalia, which will be translated into Spanish and distributed in Mexico by the Anagrama publishing house.
In the FIL programme, Claudia Durastanti will participate in a literary meeting on 1 December at 5pm entitled El Roma Milán nos está matando. ¿Dedónde viene la nueva literatura italiana?, which aims to introduce the Mexican public to the protagonists of contemporary Italian literature. She will also take part in the Festival de Letras Europeas, an internal FIL festival organised by the European Delegation in Mexico and the representations of the member countries. In this context, Claudia Durastanti will dialogue with Dylan Brennan, Neige Sinno and Deniz Utlu, on 3 December at 19:00.
