Destination Frankfurt

On 15 March 2024, Destination Frankfurt, the programme of initiatives and meetings in preparation for Italy’s participation as guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair (16-20 October 2024) was presented at the Italian Embassy in Berlin.

Destination Frankfurt starts in March with the meetings planned at the Stuttgarter Kriminächte and Leipziger Buchmesse, to continue in the following months with ILfest in Munich, Europäisches Festival des Debütromans in Kiel, Literatursommer Schleswig-Holstein, Poetische Quellen in Bad Oeynhausen, Internationaler Graphic Novel Salon in Hamburg, Globale Festival in Bremen, the Krimifestival in Hamburg, Stuttgarter Buchwochen and many other literary events.

Curated by the five Italian Cultural Institutes operating in Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart), in collaboration with AIE and with the coordination of the Embassy in Berlin, the itinerary of Destinazione Francoforte will make it possible both to considerably expand the number of Italian authors who in 2024 will have the opportunity to present their works in Germany, and to anticipate some of the strands and focuses that will be protagonists at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October.
