From Saint-Nazaire: Maison des écrivains étrangers et des traducteurs and Italian books

Saint-Nazaire’s Maison des écrivains étrangers et des traducteurs invites you to discover two very singular voices. Two writers who, having chosen Italian as the language in which they write, tell about the elsewheres linked to what might be called “a world history of Italy”. Le Calabrais qui émigra à Macondo, by the journalist Angelo Mastrandrea, published in Italy in 2019, mixes a literary study based on Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude with stories of Italian emigration to the United States and France. Un sambouk traverse la mer, the first French translation of the Italian-Somali writer and poet, Cristina Ubah Ali Farah, will be published in November 2021.
