Paris:  Italissimo celebrates its 10th anniversary!

Ten years of success: since the first edition in 2016, there have been more than three hundred Italian and French guests, two hundred and sixty meetings, readings, shows and screenings in twenty different venues. Ten years of dialogue between Italian and French culture, ten years of fascinating discoveries and moving exchanges. And to celebrate this anniversary, a new edition of the Festival that is even richer and more dazzling.

To open the festival, Silvia Avallone and Sylvain Prudhomme will engage in a dialogue at Sciences Po. The public will then meet other big names such as Dacia Maraini, Emanuele Trevi, Erri De Luca, Gianrico Carofiglio, Donatella Di Pietrantonio, Viola Ardone, Paolo Cognetti, Milena Agus, Carlo Lucarelli, but also several new voices in Italian literature such as Francesca Giannone, Giacinta Cavagna di Gualdana, Monica Acito, Matteo Bianchi and Greta Olivo. Among the French authors, Laurent Gaudé, Daniel Pennac who will read Antonio Moresco and Pierre Adrian with a literary concert for Cesare Pavese. An evening will be dedicated to Umberto Eco at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Andrea Camilleri, a tribute evening will be dedicated to him at the Maison de la Poésie with Carlo Lucarelli and Serge Quadruppani. Finally, Alessandro Baricco, a pioneer of the festival in 2016, will be on the bill for the closing event.

And as usual, there will be a cinema program, exhibitions, school meetings, writing and translation workshops, literary aperitifs, and more. In addition, there will be a professional meeting on publishing and translation between France and Italy at the Italian Cultural Institute.
