Paris: Marco Martinelli and the non-school
On 12 October (6.30 pm), at the Maison de l’Italie (7a boulevard Jourdan, 75014 Paris) there will be a presentation of Marco Martinelli’s book Aristophane dans les banlieues. Pratiques de la non-école (Actes Sud, 2020, translated into French by Laurence Van Goethem). With the participation of the author, Marco Martinelli, Marco Consolini (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3) and Paolo Grossi (Cahiers de l’Hôtel de Galliffet). The meeting will focus on an extraordinary dramaturgical experience which, from Ravenna, has taken the members of the Teatro delle Albe all over Italy (from Naples to Milan, from Calabria to Venice) but also to New York and Senegal, Kenya and Rio de Janeiro.
Winner of several awards, including seven times of Italy’s highest theatre prize, the Ubu, Marco Martinelli is one of his country’s leading playwrights and directors. In 1983, in Ravenna, he co-founded a theatre company, the Teatro delle Albe, with Ermanna Montanari, Luigi Dadina and Marcella Nonni. His book, Aristophane dans les banlieues (Actes Sud, 2020) was awarded this year’s Prix de la critique de théâtre et de danse, which will be presented on 11 October at the Théâtre national de la Danse de Chaillot in Paris.
