Köln: The long night of Italian literature

On 11 October 2024, on the occasion of the 2024 edition of the Frankfurt Book Fair, which will see Italy present as Guest of Honour, the Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne promotes the edition of the Lange Nacht der italienischen Literatur dedicated to the theme ‘Roots in the future’ organised by Literaturhaus Köln in collaboration with Deutschlandfunk’s ‘Langen Nacht’ programme .
The event will take place from 7.30 p.m. at the Comedia Theater Köln, Vondelstraße 4-8.
‘Roots in the future’ is the motto that defines Italy’s presence as Guest of Honour at the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024. With this in mind, the Lange Nacht der italienischen Literatur in Cologne offers the public a literary proposal that combines creative tradition and a spirit of optimism.

During the evening, the authors Marta Barone (Als mein Vater in den Straßen von Turin verschwand, Kiepenheuer & Witsch), Francesca Maria Benvenuto (Dieses Meer, dieses unerbittliche Meer, Kunstmann), Ginevra Lamberti (Der Aufruhr unserer Herzen, Piper), Francesca Melandri (Kalte Füße, Wagenbach), Igiaba Scego (Kassandra in Mogadischu, S. Fischer) and Maddalena Vaglio Tanet (In den Wald, Suhrkamp).

Maike Albath and Shelly Kupferberg will moderate the dialogues.
