I disobbedienti del mondo nuovo
by Rinaldi, PatriziaFour wounded boys, four rebels, one company. The future has killed freedom, regular social coexistence and democracy. The New World, ruled by an oligarchy of tyrants, is inspired by the ancient social model of the Hikikomori. The disease of loneliness has become the norm. Four overweight boys, their bodies unaccustomed to moving, live sealed in the confinement of their rooms. An iron law forces them to attend a school every three months, to prepare the few survivors of the New World for military service in the Reserves if necessary. Yet, the boys find the strength to defect, and with disobedience begins their whirlwind adventure into reality. A dystopian adventure with a powerfully contemporary slant, which engages strong, topical themes.
