Il diritto sulla via della seta. Codice civile cinese e tradizione romanistica
The Silk Road, which for thousands of years has facilitated the exchange not only of goods but also of ideas between East and West, serves as a metaphor for the legal bridge between modern China and Roman law, which forms the fundamental framework for the Chinese Civil Cod in force since 2020. It is a two-way relationship in which even contemporary Italian law draws inspiration and insights from the reception of Roman law principles within the legal system of the world’s leading economy of our time. The volume brings together contributions from the work carried out at the University of Milan during the week of 12–16 January 2026, funded by the PNRR ‘Italy East Asia Cooperation: from Local Expertise to a Global Outlook’, which are the result of the dialogue held there between Italian and Chinese universities on common legal principles, concepts and terminology.
