Il naso rosso. Psicologia e pedagogia del clown

If we present ourselves with a red nose on, even just for play and only for a few minutes, we immediately note the effect. Abandoning our own identity for a bit, we discover new forms of communication and a different image of ourselves, perhaps less exciting, but more real, and with the same spontaneity of children approaching others without expectations or prejudices. Heir to the buffoon and the jester, the clown wisely combines their intentions and purifies their message. They express a particular psychology and are capable of creating a pedagogy that can take the form of a therapeutic gesture in schools, hospitals, prisons and even in companies.

ALESSANDRA FARNETI has taught developmental psychology in the faculty of the science of formation at the Bolzano Free University and has directed two courses at the University of Bologna on advanced training of clowns at the service of the person.
