A visual journey into the Wunderkammer, the chambers of curiosities born between the Renaissance and the Baroque to contain the world and its enigmas. Between sacred relics and wondrous objects, narwhal horns, automata, natural anomalies, and astrological instruments, the book explores collecting as a symbolic gesture and a response to emptiness. A cultural and illustrated narrative that moves through centuries of wonder, between science and superstition, theatrical excess and intimate archives, up to contemporary collections.
Francesca Anita Gigli scrive di arte e cultura visiva. Dal 2022 collabora con Finestre sull’Arte, per cui firma articoli e approfondimenti nelle edizioni online e cartacea. È autrice e voce dei podcast Oltre la tela e Intelligenza Reale. Nel 2021 ha fondato Likeitalians, progetto dedicato alla divulgazione dell’arte sui canali digitali in collaborazione con istituzioni culturali ed editori. Francesca Anita Gigli is a writer specializing in art and visual culture. Since 2022, she has contributed articles and essays to Finestre sull’Arte, both online and in print. She is an author and host of multiple art-focused podcasts, curates a newsletter and leads a project dedicated to communicating art across digital platforms. Additionally, she teaches contemporary art and visual communication applied to graphic design.
Francesca Anita Gigli escribe sobre arte y cultura visual. Desde 2022, colabora con Finestre sull’Arte, escribiendo artículos y reflexiones para las ediciones en línea e impresas. Es la autora y la voz de los podcasts Oltre la tela e Intelligenza Reale. En 2021, fundó Likeitalians, un proyecto dedicado a promover el arte en canales digitales en colaboración con instituciones culturales y editoriales.
