Giorni
Poi fugge, rossa in viso.
Maurizio A.C.
Days
In just 15 sentences and 15 breathtaking illustrations, it weaves echoes of the world’s most beloved fairy tales – from Peter Pan to Cinderella, Pinocchio to Bluebeard – into moments that feel deeply personal and universally relatable.
Days is a lyrical and visually stunning picturebook that captures the emotional rhythm of everyday life – the quiet, the chaotic, the magical, and the mysterious.
There are days… when everything you do or that happens to you can turn into a fairy tale. There are days…when a fairy tale hides in everything you do or that happens to you.
Days is perfect for readers of all ages, and it is a celebration of the stories we carry with us, and the ones we live through, one day at a time.
In each of our lives, the days are not always the same, on the contrary: they are often very different from each other. And there can therefore be moments of absolute stasis, as happened to Rapunzel with her braid hanging and without a prince, or days when we feel uncomfortable like the princess who didn’t sleep for that pea under many mattresses, or even days when the truth is not for us, as happened to Pinocchio. But there are days when you feel on cloud nine like Peter Pan and the other lost children did… The double meaning that words often have transports us from everyday reality to the infinite imagination of fairy tales. A poetic game that touches strings as deep as they are wonderful.
Giulia Arlen Livadiotti was born in Rome in 2002. She grew up wandering through the shelves of the bookshop where her parents worked. When she grows up, she dreams of becoming Santa Claus. Her literary debut is almost like a fairy tale: at the 2025 Più Libri Più Liberi Book Fair, shy and trembling, she approached the publisher and handed over a folder containing a couple of typewritten pages. Then she ran away, blushing. The publisher only had time to say, “Thank you—we’ll read it…” What happened afterwards is both real life and a fairy tale. One thing is certain: it became a book.
Maurizio A.C. Quarello is a giant of illustration, whose books have been translated all over the world. With every new project, he reinvents his artistic style, making each book distinct from the last. His work is also equal to the challenge of illustrating the works of some of the greatest names in world literature, including R. L. Stevenson, Jack London, and Jorge Ibargüengoitia. He has received numerous prestigious international awards and teaches illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, after spending more than ten years teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata.
