Una storia corale, dal ritmo classico, un piccolo Gulliver contemporaneo che tra le righe (ma non troppo!) sbeffeggia gli uomini e le loro assurdità.
Panciagialla e Copecoperso sono due vecchi pirati che insieme hanno depredato vascelli e dominato i mari e ora sono in pensione. Il nostromo Copecoperso sta soffrendo di un terribile mal di denti e ha così tanta fame che sogna zuppa di tartaruga… della qual cosa non è per niente contenta Genoveffa, la mascotte di Panciagialla che lo segue dappertutto! L’unica speranza del nostromo è di essere curato da Anselmo, un drago che da anni non ha più fuoco in bocca e perciò ha ripiegato sulla professione di dentista. Ed è proprio per quel mal di denti che i due pirati scalcagnati intraprendono un viaggio impervio nella Foresta di Orcum, dove si imbattono in un gorilla dalla risposta pronta, in una puzzola appassionata di baseball e in un leone con le stampelle. E dopo aver battagliato con i temibili orchi, se la prenderanno con la specie peggiore di tutte, i bipedi saputisaputi, che pensano di saperla lunga più di tutti ma non sanno neanche fare un arrembaggio!
Andrea Molesini è scrittore, poeta e traduttore. Vive a Venezia, dove è nato. Ha insegnato Letterature comparate all’Università di Padova. Per diversi anni ha scritto fiabe e romanzi per ragazzi vincendo il Premio Andersen alla carriera nel 1999. Nel 2010 ha pubblicato con Sellerio Non tutti i bastardi sono di Vienna, il suo primo romanzo (Premio Campiello 2011), cui hanno fatto seguito altri romanzi di cui l’ultimo è Il rogo della Repubblica. Con questo libro, dopo tanti anni, ritorna finalmente alla narrativa per bambini.
Story of the pirate with a toothache and the fireless dragon

Panciagialla and Copecoperso are two old pirates who together looted ships and ruled the seas, but now they retired. The boatswain Copecoperso is suffering from a terrible toothache and is so hungry that he dreams of turtle soup – which is not at all pleasing to Genoveffa, Panciagialla’s turtle, who follows him everywhere! The boatswain’s only hope is to be cured by Anselm, a dragon who has lost his breath of fire and has thus turned into a dentist.
It is because of a toothache that the two mischievous pirates embark on an adventurous journey into the Orcum Forest, where they come across a quick-witted gorilla, a baseball-loving skunk and a lion on crutches. With each encounter, a bizarre and unlikely company of outcasts forms, but together they have the strength of a small army. And, after battling with the fearsome ogres, they will take on the worst species of all, the know-it-all bipeds, who think they know best, but don’t even know how to board!
Andrea Molesini is a writer, poet and translator born in Venice, where he lives. He has been a professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Padua. In 1999 he received the Andersen Prize for lifetime achievement for his children’s books. With Non tutti i bastardi sono di Vienna (Sellerio, 2010) he won the Campiello Prize. His latest novel is Il rogo della Repubblica published by Sellerio, and with this book, after many years, he returns to children’s fiction.

安德烈亚·莫莱西尼是作家、诗人和翻译家。他出生于威尼斯并在此生活，曾在帕多瓦大学教授比较文学。多年来他创作童话和青少年小说，于1999年获得“安徒生终身成就奖”。2010年由赛莱里奥出版社出版首部成人小说《并非所有混蛋都来自维也纳》（2011年坎皮耶罗奖）。最新作为《共和国的火刑架》，本书是他时隔多年重返儿童文学领域的力作。
