La casa dell’invisibile. Marilynne Robinson e la teologia del quotidiano
by Nisii, Maria
Marilynne Robinson has transformed literature into a sacred space, where words become the home of the Invisible, and storytelling a tool of grace. In this essay, American studies scholar Maria Nisii reveals how the author of “Gilead” has redefined the relationship between theology and storytelling, elevating writing to the level of a liturgical act. A thorough and impassioned examination of a wide range of texts, from novels to essays, reveals the underpinnings of a distinctive artistic vision. This vision has the power to transform the profound mysteries of the divine into compelling characters and narratives of everyday salvation. Readers will embark on a journey into Robinson’s poetics, where every seemingly trivial gesture — such as swimming in a river, receiving a letter from a father or observing silence — redeems the meaning of life and reveals the Eternal in the fragment. These pages act as a literary and theological compass for curious readers and passionate scholars alike. This original and necessary investigation accompanies readers on a journey of discovery, unveiling one of the most profound voices of our time. This voice embraces the evangelical subversion of the established order, transforming doubt into beauty and loneliness into communion.
