La contessa di Vallepiana

by Lippolis, Raffaella
La contessa di Vallepiana

Grand Duchy of Tuscany, 1771. Young Countess Elena Rondi of Vallepiana is a reserved and shy woman who lives with her father and older brother. She is different from other girls, with a deep passion for literature and music, and a particular fascination with the cultural ferment of her time, the Enlightenment. Her tranquil life takes a turn when she meets Count Ettore Lochesi of Colleverde, an impulsive and charming man interested in politics and military ventures, who falls in love with her. But the course of historical events will upheave their lives, testing a bond that has only just begun.
