Felice Venturi has a gift. He inherited it from his mother. He calls it “death in color.” By touching a dying person, he can give them the illusion of a long, radiant future—a splendid dimension in which all their desires come true—while the few minutes they have left stretch into years, decades, like the expanded time of dreams.
