La pesca dei tonni. Racconto illustrato

by Salgari Emilio
La pesca dei tonni. Racconto illustrato

The volume contains a reprint of a short story by Emilio Salgari, published for the first time in 1904 under the pseudonym Enrico Bertolini and reprinted in 1937 under the real name Emilio Salgari. \’La pesca dei tonni. Illustrated story\’ is set in Alghero and the Catalan city recalls the natural beauty, the costumes and the beauty of women, as well as the bloody ritual of tuna fishing, as it is still practiced today in the south of Sardinia. The traces of this story were almost lost and the small volume contains both editions, the second with some variations on the first. It is enriched by a critical essay by the Salgarian Alberto Contu and a preface by Massimiliano Fois.

Salgari Emilio

Salgari was a narrator of great energy, influenced by the examples of Verne, Sue and Dumas father, he wrote about eighty novels and about 150 short stories intended for children and continuously reprinted in very high circulation. He was capable of inventing characters with exhilarating heroism, action-packed and suspenseful plots, environments and atmospheres with a strong exotic colour.
