A collection of stories set between Belgrade and Rome, on the common thread of memories, secrets and nostalgia that resist the passage of time. An old taxi driver finds himself to be involuntary custodian of the fragments of life of a lawyer. A love that is suspended and never lived returns exploding years later. The hands of a queen-woman create miracles from a lump of flour, a few drops of water and crystals of coarse salt, small buds capable of bewitch a great poet. These are just some of the protagonists of these stories by Tijana M. Djerković, intertwined to form an iridescent and precious mosaic called life.
TIJANA M. DJERKOVIĆ was born in Belgrade and since 1987 lives in Italy, near Rome. Daughter of the Serbian poet Momčilo Djerković, she studied Russian language and literature and Italian language at the University of Belgrade. She is a translator from Italian and Russian.
