As a result of an event that will mark her life, little Maggie embarks on a journey that will make her to wander first in the Soviet Union, then in the Rome of the Second Republic, to finally take refuge in the post-Basaglian Trieste. In every place the protagonist changes her identity: in Russia she is Lena, who learns to manage her own independence; in Rome she is Maddalè, who experiences the joy and frustration of stability; in Trieste she is the mad Mad, who discovers her own truth. A woman who changes and evolves at each stage, up to risk losing herself, only to find herself once she has come to terms with the past.
