Lineamenti di letteratura inglese. Il periodo elisabettiano e Shakespeare
by Marinucci, Sofia
The book aims to analyze the Elizabethan era, not only from a historical perspective but also a literary one, with a subsequent focus on the works of William Shakespeare. Divided into clear and concise chapters, it explores the culturally rich and fascinating period of 16th-century England, focusing directly on Shakespeare’s works and highlighting the connections, themes, and influences that were pivotal for the literature of the time. Furthermore, the analysis of the historical and cultural period that led to an era marked by such growth, along with the evolution of English literature and history after the Elizabethan era, has enabled a more accurate understanding of this great period. Of particular significance is the study of the major authors who shaped the period and the works that flourished during it. Through a concise analysis, this crucial historical moment is examined in order to better understand the social, cultural, and literary dynamics that made it one of the most flourishing periods in the history of English literature. Despite its brevity, the presentation is rich in interpretive insights, making a complex subject both accessible and engaging.
