Lineamenti di storia di Roma. Dalle origini alla fine della Repubblica
by Tonelli, Matilde
The volume retraces the main events in the history of Rome: after a first chapter about the founding of the city and the theories about its origin the focus moves on from the Roman Republic to the appearance of the first triumvirate. It will discuss the Republic’s structure and organization, the internal conflicts of the roman citizens, Rome’s expansion in Italy and in the Mediterranean and, in the end, the chain of events that brought to life the alliance between Caesar, Pompeus and Crassus. The events will be treated in chronological order and concisely, made for students who need a review of roman history before tests in history, roman law or latin language. The text is accompanied with maps and chronological schemes to help easy the study load. At the end of the book there is a bibliography and access to an extensive sitography that presents – in addition to the maps mentioned in the text – additional content that can also serve students as a basis for building a strong foundation of sources for a dissertation.
