L’isolo
by Maicol & Mirco
This comic is different from all the others Maicol & Mirco have created before. It’s the story of a man who gave up everything and went to live alone on a tiny island. A man who knows exactly what’s truly important, but who may also be lying to himself a little, so as not to think about what he’s lost through his radical choice of independence and detachment from the world. Yet Isolo “lives alone, surrounded by the sea,” and the author reminds us that this is true for all of us. There’s a deeply touching and heartwarming lesson within this graphic novel—a message of salvation that goes straight to the heart. The introduction is by the most enthusiastic reader to date, the great Paolo Rossi. If you want to remind yourself of what the essential looks like—and how to protect it from everything, even from yourself—this is the book you need to read.
