Piero Manzoni BACGLSP. Basta a ciascun giorno la sua pena
by Bacilieri, Paolo
An irreverent genius, Piero Manzoni traversed the post-World War II European avant-garde like a meteor, leaving us lines to unroll, inflatable or edible sculptures, the famous Achromes and above all the practice of a total art that does not distinguish between work and life. Paolo Bacilieri recomposes the trajectory of this burning human parable, cross-referencing documents and evoking the architecture of his city with meticulous passion. A comic, melancholic and tragic Milan, reborn from the rubble and launched towards the economic boom, ‘corrupt to the core’ yet seething with creativity.

Bacilieri, Paolo
Paolo Bacilieri is one of Italy’s leading contemporary cartoonists. Translated all over the world, in 1997 he created his best-known character, Zeno Porno, a comic book scriptwriter and former CIA agent, whose stories won him the best single author award at Lucca Comics & Games in 2006. Among his many titles, mention should at least be made of Sweet Salgari (2012), a comic book biography of Emilio Salgari, and Bob84, on a script by Vincenzo Filosa (2021).
