“The book you are now leafing through is the result of the collective research, correction, restoration and design efforts of the family members and closest collaborators of Daniele Segre, who died in February 2024. The new edition of the book, first published in 1979, aims to bring together in a single volume the photographic, cinematographic and interview work that Daniele did for the world of fans over more than forty years. A special restoration allows us to appreciate the photographs and films of the highest quality. The 1979 book marked the beginning of Daniele’s work on fans, which would lead him to make three documentaries and continue his research into social issues and human stories, making him a pioneer of reality cinema in Italy. This new edition gathers more than one hundred photos, many of them unpublished, recently found in the archives, and a QR code to stream the trilogy of films Il Potere deve essere bianconero (1978), Ragazzi di Stadio (1980) and Ragazzi di Stadio 40 anni dopo (2018)”.

Segre, Daniele
Daniele Segre was an Italian photographer and director, author of documentaries, feature films, reportages. He also worked for public television. He has worked on social issues (with Morire di Lavoro, a documentary dedicated to the white death) and historical insights (Nome di battaglia donna, which collects the testimonies of women involved in the partisan resistance). Segre has taught at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and was awarded the Solinas Prize in 2012.
