Sonata per la morte di un dio
by Arzani, Giacomo
Eu’s eyes are light; gravity springs from his bones, and his skin is fertile soil upon which his children live, in a reality marked by the beats of a colossal heart. He is a continent, a world, a god… and he is dying. The inventor Beto realises that his parents’ prophecy is coming true and must set off on a flying ship to uncover the truths hidden behind the end of all things. From the skin of the slave Mezzaluce, a power awakens that compels her to lead her people on a desperate flight within the crumbling body. The novice Velia receives a whisper from Eu himself. She must journey to the skull to save him. But a doubt threatens her mission. What if even the creator could lie?

Arzani, Giacomo
Giacomo Arzani was born in Piedmont and grew up in a remote provincial village, near the confluence of two rivers. Amidst floods, mosquitoes and maize fields, he writes, plays and sings songs, as well as reading a myriad of books. His passion for fantasy blossomed in the courtyard, with wooden swords, imagined sorcery and tree houses. In 2024, he won first prize at the first edition of the Arcimago Award.
