Jim Yellowhawk,  member of the Itazipco Band of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and the Onandoga tribe of the Iroquois Nation, has been immersed in the art of his ancestors since he was a boy. He is an internationally known Native American artist, highly regarded for his traditional ledger art; in his works he represents the spiritual and cultural Lakota heritage, but also the present time, with various means of expression and socio-political art.
