Una felicità nuova. Riscoprire la poesia di Pascoli
by Grattacaso GiuseppeIn Italy, few authors evoke as many memories of school readings as much as famed poet Giovanni Pascoli: X Agosto, Il gelsomino notturno… a few verses always linger with those who studied them. Yet, the mental picture we have of Pascoli himself is rather outdated, archaic; perhaps shrouded in mystery. As a remedy, these pages take us on a journey that leads us to reread his poetry and highlight his extraordinary capacity for innovation. Moreover, it illustrates his unique literary perspective, aimed at appreciating small domestic things just as much as the secrets of the universe, in a cognitive tension that – to use a specific verb dear to him – makes the mystery of being alive sparkle.
