Orfeo is 16 years old and always spends his vacations in a remote town at the mouth of a large river. There he meets Aurora and falls in love with her immediately. Aurora is fascinated by the mystery of the abandoned house in the middle of the swamp, which is said to be cursed. It is here that they encounter the presence: it appears to them as a glimmer of dust particles. At first they are frightened by it, but then they are irresistibly drawn to it. The presence shows them images from its past life, including flames devouring everything. The two teenagers realize that the presence is the victim of a murder: a soul trapped in our world, waiting for justice to be served so it can move on. Aurora, however, begins to feel a sort of addiction to the presence, and Orfeo realizes that if he doesn’t do something, he’ll lose the girl he’s in love with forever.
