Coppi is always first, Coppi is the first. In all rankings Coppi is the best, and if he is not the best, he is the greatest. But in 1959 Coppi is no longer a winner. He is a man again, he is human.

One hundred years after his birth and almost sixty years after his death, here is The last Coppi: Fausto Coppi in 1959, his last year as a man and champion, as a father and athlete, as a businessman and manager. A long, frantic, passionate farewell to the cycling world – roads and runways, races and riders, newspapers and journalists – but also his silent farewell to his wives, Bruna and Giulia, children, Marina and Faustino, friends, guardian angels, his flock, his fans, Italy and all Italians. The last Paris-Roubaix, the last Tour of Tuscany, the last Trophy of Baracchi, but also the first and last Vuelta, the first and last flight to Dublin, the first and last trip to the Upper Volta, where he caught malaria. An exhausted Coppi, worn-out, tired-out, dead beat, yet still ready to ride, willing, curious. An actor, performer, protagonist, a Buffalo Bill on a bike, ambassador of his own two-wheeled legend. An unpublished Coppi that still had a thousand stories to tell. «In interviews, stories, jokes, races, at dinners, on the phone, in a picture, in a single episode, in two sentences, everyone has his Coppi. This is a choir, an anthology, a WikiCoppi. Dry, direct, quoted».
