Federica  Zanca  tells  her  story,  and  she  does  it  by  laying  bare  a  troubled  and  painful  life.  The  trauma  of  an  adoptive  mother  who  has  never  recognized  herself  in  this  role,  the  death  of  her  father,  who  represented  the  only  safe  harbor  to  which  to  land,  and  a  distracted  and  distant  husband,  are  compensated  by  the  strength  of  the  only  feeling  that  drives  the  our  authoress  to  go  on:  love,  which  in  all  its  facets  is  chosen  as  the  driving  force  behind  the  positive  change  of  oneself.
