All’inizio del Novecento, in uno dei tanti bayou della Louisiana, quattro ragazzi sognano il mondo sfogliando le mille pagine del catalogo Walker & Dawn. Quando trovano tre dollari d’argento, ordinano una pistola automatica. Ma il pacco che arriva contiene solo un orologio da tasca rotto.
Quando uno sconosciuto si presenta per riprendersi l’orologio e inizia a inseguirli, i ragazzi decidono di scappare a Chicago, dove ha sede il catalogo, per restituirlo e ottenere una ricompensa. Ma ben presto si trovano coinvolti in un misterioso caso irrisolto: Miss Dawn, la creatrice del catalogo, fu assassinata la notte di Capodanno del 1899. Poco prima di morire, nascose il suo intero patrimonio, mai più ritrovato.
L’orologio da tasca si rivela l’anello mancante per trovare il tesoro. È la chiave per aprire un armadietto alla Grand Central Station di Chicago. Un armadietto che da anni aspetta di svelare i suoi segreti.

However, they soon become entangled in a mysterious cold case: Miss Dawn, the catalogue’s inventor, was murdered by her lover on New Year’s Eve 1899. Just before she died, she hid all her wealth, and it’s never been found.
The pocket watch turns out to be the missing link to finding the treasure. It’s the key to opening a locker at Chicago’s Grand Central Station. A locker that’s been waiting for years to reveal its secrets.
