L’uomo delle frontiere. Sulle tracce di Fridtjof Nansen

par Peruch, Camilla
L’uomo delle frontiere. Sulle tracce di Fridtjof Nansen

Following the trail of monuments dedicated to him in his homeland, Camilla Peruch tells the story of Fridtjof Nansen, the celebrated Norwegian explorer, scientist, and politician, winner of the 1922 Nobel Peace Prize and the first High Commissioner for Refugees of the League of Nations (later the UN). Nansen crossed not only geographical but also political and humanitarian frontiers. His contribution was crucial in redefining the rights of refugees and stateless persons, for whom a passport exists thanks to him. The book intertwines the physical journey with a profound reflection on human frontiers, the values of international solidarity, and human rights.
