Gemelle
by Besa Giulia
When the extroverted, outgoing Celeste inexplicably drops out of school just before her final high school exam, Vera, her timid and studious twin sister, is overcome by an urgent need to find out what could possibly be going through her mind. And so Vera transforms herself into Celeste. She immerses herself in her sister’s world: a whirlwind of parties, friendships, and situations that she never could have imagined… Vera discovers that hidden, unknown sides exist to many people in their lives. For example, Massimo, Celeste’s boyfriend, who Vera has always considered superficial and insignificant. There is also Paolo, Vera’s long-time best friend. Even the twins’ father, who always seemed so dependably affectionate and impartial, manages to reveal another aspect to his persona. Beneath the apparently straighforward, limpid surface of their young lives, Vera discovers that many secrets and betrayals do exist. And much to her amazement, Vera understands that she is able to fall in love. At the same time, new opportunities will open up for Celeste that neither of them could ever have imagined.
