Paris: Giorgio Caproni’s short stories

Giorgio Caproni‘s collection of short stories in French translation, Au fil des jours et autres nouvelles (Cahiers de l’Hôtel de Galliffet, Paris, 2023,) will be presented on 20 September at 7 p.m. at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris. With the participation Irène Bouslama, Michela Baldini, Isabelle Lavergne (s.r.), Jean-Yves Masson, Jean-Baptiste Parà and Lucia Visonà. The debate will be moderated by Paolo Grossi (Cahiers de l’Hôtel de Galliffet).

His prose, on the other hand, is less well known. Thanks to this new title in the “Cahiers de l’Hôtel de Galliffet” collection, which brings together seventeen short stories, most of which were published in newspapers and magazines in the 1930s and 1940s, French readers have access to a wide sample of Caproni’s work as a narrator, in particular for the variety of subjects covered: the war and his experience in the Resistance, the post-war period with its promises and disillusions, the sea and the unique adventures it offers…
