StradeLab: call for translators (deadline 20 October)
StradeLab, with the support of the Public Lending Right Fund via Calibro and in partnership with the Looren Translators’ House, is promoting Translation Tandem, a programme aimed at those who translate in the publishing sector to and from Italian. The programme was conceived by the Association of Catalan-Language Authors (AELC), in collaboration with the Institut Ramon Llull. Whilst access is free of charge, the Translation Tandem programme fully recognises the value of the time, experience and care devoted to the exchange: participants are, in fact, paid for their involvement.
The Translation Tandem brings together two translators working in the same language combination but in opposite directions: two languages, two contexts, two mirror-image perspectives that compare their respective translations to explore together the most complex aspects of the translation process.
The aim is twofold: not only to contribute to the quality of the translations, but also to foster the creation of international networks of people working in different languages, countries and publishing systems.
The hope is that the dialogue will continue beyond the duration of the project, opening up to the exchange of ideas and information on works, catalogues, publishing houses, trends and scouting practices.

Applications must be submitted by 20 October 2026.
