It’s 1915 when young Italians are first called to arms: World War I has broken out. In four years it will decimate a generation and leave the lucky ones who manage to save themselves lost and confused. Through the pages of this novel, the reader will bear witness to events involving the Alpine troops and the brutality of the Great War through the eyes of a group of friends who find themselves fighting in the Alps. Readers will be gripped and moved as they follow the heroic, tragic, and extreme events involving the protagonists which intertwine with those of great historical figures, such as writer Rudyard Kipling ─ then war correspondent ─ and General Luigi Cadorna.

He writes for Il Messaggero, Qui Touring and other publications. He has collaborated for various RAI shows and his documentaries have been broadcast for 20 years. With Alpi di guerra, Alpi di pace (Corbaccio, 2015) he won the Cortina Montagna Prize in 2015.
