La Montagna Pirata takes us to a high altitude, where we discover that sometimes things are much more frightening when we look at them from a distance.
A child, a father, a mother, a sister on the way who still needs a name, a dog who already has a name and a rather important one at that: all aboard a coffee-coloured car, in the direction of a mountain hut. With them, we enter the black and white world of La Montagna Pirata, and we leave for a family holiday.
Ooh no!, thinks the child: he doesn’t really want to face the boredom, the spiders, the clouds and especially that mountain with its frightening white beard… But a walk at dawn with a cup of hot tea, with his father and his dog Quinto Valerio Massimo, is enough to change things. Among the woods and stretches of dandelions, the child discovers the pirates of the mountains and learns their rules: do not think too much about washing your face and do not be afraid of things that change.
Through Davide Longo’s words and Fausto Gilberti’s illustrations, La Montagna Piratatakes us to a high altitude, where we discover that sometimes things are much more frightening when we look at them from a distance.
