L’algoritmo del silenzio
by Bozzi, Rosa Angela
In post-war Italy, spanning the decades of the economic boom, the Years of Lead, and Tangentopoli, Andrea, Giulio, and Martina are three university students bound by a deep friendship and by loves that are never fully confessed. When Martina disappears without explanation, she takes a secret with her: a hidden daughter. Left behind are two men who never stop searching for her, and a chain of silences destined to spread across decades, shaping everyone’s lives.
Because silence is never neutral: it follows a logic, a precision, an inexorable consequentiality. It is an algorithm that generates effects even when no one truly chooses to act.
A choral novel of voices, letters, and confessions, The Algorithm of Silence tells what remains when silence lasts too long—and what happens when, finally, someone breaks the pact.
