L’ultimo battito dell’estate
by Germani, Maurizio
For over twenty years, Cino Palmieri lives suspended in the memory of Alberta, the overwhelming love of his youth, which vanished without explanation and was never truly overcome.
Having become an established journalist and writer, he moves through relationships and successes with a constant emptiness, inhabited by a past that continues to burn more fiercely than the present.
When, at Christmas 1990, a sudden event brings him back to those distant days, Cino decides to confront them through writing.
Through pages that blend memory and emotion, family secrets, deep divisions, and a fragile, unforgettable, and thwarted love resurface. But telling Alberta’s story is no longer enough.
Between nostalgia, regret, and the never-fading desire to find her again, Cino will face a choice: let the past remain as it is, or once more pursue what has never stopped calling him.
