Miti personali. Sedici racconti
by Marchesini, Matteo
Achilles chases Hector endlessly, while the Trojan hero turns into a turtle. A probably false Odysseus returns to Ithaca causing a Bruneri-Canella ante litteram case. Narcissus and Leopardi have to choose between a state of perpetual minority, compensated for by their fantastic omnipotence, and a flight from home that leaves a glimpse of the shadow of death along with adult life. In these archetypal moulds the author pours his own personal experience of the world, offering us a clear gallery of moods, family dramas and social conflicts. Thus, from the “Poetry” of Orpheus he arrives at the “Prose” of the last pieces, where common characters, similar to each one of us, represent the cruel myths of today’s reality.
