Portofino blues
by Aiolli, Valerio
January 8, 2001, in the garden of Villa Altachiara in Portofino, Countess Francesca Vacca Agusta, star of the Italian and international jet set for years, disappeared. That evening saw the start of an investigation and a jumble of hypotheses that would fill the headlines of newspapers and television for weeks, months and years, without finding a solutionor rest, not even when the woman’s body was found in the sea. How and why did the Countess fall off the cliff? Who was with her that night? Did someone push her or was it just a fatality? A novel as tight as a noir and as wide-ranging as a fresco, against the backdrop of our country’s industrial and political history.
