Una vita in equilibrio. Gioie, amarezze e dolori di un uomo dello sport italiano
by Franceschetti, Bruno
The story of Bruno Franceschetti is the story of nearly 70 years of Italian gymnastics, in which he played a central role as both an athlete and a coach. Born in a small agricultural town in the Venetian province, he moved at a young age to Varese, where he was fortunate enough to discover the world of men’s artistic gymnastics. The passion that ignited within him for this sport completely consumed him and drove him to dedicate himself to it body and soul for his entire life, an endeavor in which he fully succeeded. The sport repaid him with an alternating mix of satisfaction, worries, disappointments, and battles won and lost; yet, his unconditional faith in sports ethics, loyalty, and the human capacity to strive for and achieve perfection never wavered. He found himself constantly poised between success and defeat, between the joy of victories and the grief of losses that inexorably affected even his family life, but he always managed to maintain his balance. He was an innovator from every point of view, particularly in training techniques and in managing the psychological aspects linked to athletic performance.
