Around seventy biblical scholars and experts from various theological disciplines have contributed to the entries in this dictionary. The aim is to combine the rigour of exegesis with a popularising approach, taking care to cater for readers less accustomed to theological language. The dictionary covers a very wide range of entries, selected for their significance to biblical theology. Each entry offers an up-to-date bibliography and an in-depth analysis of the most significant biblical passages, in both the Old and New Testaments. The various biblical references guide the reader towards meditation and engagement with the Word of God, adhering to a classic principle of biblical exegesis: the Bible is understood through the Bible.
