Comet Club
Comet Club è una storia di formazione ambientata in un liceo, popolata da personaggi desiderosi di guardare dentro di sé tanto quanto di osservare le stelle, guardando il cielo. Yang Kuaikuai affronta il ritorno di sua madre, che lo ha abbandonato quando aveva 4 anni e ora gli offre una nuova avventura nella metropoli. Li Yu, invece, sta cercando di capire come lasciarsi alle spalle la mediocrità del loro piccolo villaggio di montagna e si unisce al Comet Club, sperando che l’avvistamento di un UFO possa cambiargli la vita. I due ragazzi, già protagonisti dei precedenti fumetti di Yang, affrontano sfide diverse, ma che possono essere risolte solo in modo simile: decidendo chi vogliono essere da grandi. I personaggi di Yang sono ricorrenti e hanno già recitato in altri due fumetti di Yang, ma ogni storia è indipendente e il cast viene riproposto ogni volta, creando una storia ricca di retroscena ma narrativa accessibile. Le sue immagini diventano ogni anno più sorprendenti e ora è pubblicata in diversi territori.

Yi Yang, nata in Cina nel 1994, si è trasferita in Italia per studiare nel 2014. Nel 2016 ha pubblicato Aiuto! per BAO Publishing, insieme allo sceneggiatore Isaak Friedl, con cui ha collaborato anche a Sasso il Pittore. Ha poi pubblicato Aiuto! Fratelli, Benvenuti nella giungla per Dylan Dog Color Fest, La Tasca di Mezzanotte e un gran numero di albi illustrati. Easy Breezy (diritti venduti: Francia, Spagna, Brasile), sempre per BAO Publishing, ha segnato il suo debutto italiano come autrice completa nel 2021, che le è valso il Premio per il Miglior Libro per Ragazzi al Romics di Roma, insieme al suo seguito Deep Vacation (2022, diritti venduti: Francia, Spagna).
The Comet Club
Comet Club is a coming of age story in a high school, populated by characters who are as keen to look within themselves as they are to stargaze, looking at the sky.
Yang Kuaikuai faces the return of his mother, who abandoned him when he was 4 years old and now offers him a new adventure in the metropolis. Li Yu, on the other hand, is trying to figure out how to leave behind the mediocrity of their small mountain village and joins the Comet Club, hoping that the sighting of a UFO could change his life. The two boys, already protagonists of Yang’s previous comics, face different challenges, but ones that can only be resolved in a similar way: by deciding who they want to be when they grow up. Yang’s characters are recurring, and have already starred in two other GNs, but each story is independent, and the cast is reintroduced every time, making for a rich backstory, but accessible narrative. Her visuals are becoming more stunning every year, and she’s now published in multiple territories.

Born in China in 1994, Yi Yang moved to Italy to study in 2014. In 2016 she published Aiuto! For BAO Publishing, alongside screenwriter Isaak Friedl, with whom she also worked on Sasso il Pittore. She then published Aiuto! Fratelli, Welcome to the Jungle on Dylan Dog Color Fest, La Tasca di Mezzanotte and a large number of illustrated books. Easy Breezy (rights sold: France, Spain, Brazil), again for BAO Publishing, marked his Italian debut as a complete author in 2021, winning her the Prize for Best Book for Children and Young Adults at Romics Festival in Rome, along with its sequel Deep Vacation (2022, rights sold: France, Spain).
