Kim Crumrine si è laureata in matematica alla Fairleigh Dickinson University nel 1990. Dopo aver lavorato come assistente attuario presso Selective Insurance Company e come direttrice del centro risorse per l’Association of New Jersey Environmental Commission, ha fondato Water Street Design, dove lavora tuttora come creatrice. I suoi racconti e le sue illustrazioni sono stati pubblicati sulla rivista letteraria Goldfinch. Il suo primo libro per bambini, Il piccolo fienile rosso, è uscito per minibombo nel 2024 e ha vinto il Premio Andersen 2025 nella categoria 0-3 anni.
The little red barn
It’s time for the farm animals to go to sleep in the little red barn. A mouse goes in first, then two cats, three dogs, four chickens, five pigs, and… But will everyone fit in the little red barn? Sure, no problem, we just have to get to the last page and find out why a barn that looks so small is actually very comfortable!
A great story to read in bed without giving up a touch of irony that makes it one of those books that the kids will want to read and reread before turning the light off. The perfect book to say good night to many, or rather all, of the farm animals!

Kim Crumrine earned a degree in mathematics from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1990. After working as an actuarial assistant at Selective Insurance Company and as resource center director for the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commission, she founded Water Street Design, where she continues to work as a creator. Her stories and illustrations have been published in the literary magazine Goldfinch. Her first children’s book, The Little Red Barn, was published by minibombo in 2024 and won the 2025 Andersen Prize in the 0–3 years category.
