Over the last forty years, the plane crash that occurred at DC9 Itavia on June 27, 1980 has turned into a parlor topic, in terms of confrontation between supporters of one faction rather than another, all accompanied by endless controversial debates. We have lost sight of the detail that a plane crash occurred in Ustica, and if even today after 40 years in Italy we are divided and argued animatedly about the bomb hypothesis or the war scenario, it is because in this air disaster there was no conducted a technical investigation, as happens in every country in the world in the aftermath of a plane crash, but instead focused on the judicial investigation. It was an unforgivable mistake as never in the world has the technical reasons for an air disaster ever been debated in a courtroom rather than being analyzed and investigated by professional aeronautical investigators.
