She was known as “Doctor Courage”. Born in Canada in 1929, Lucille Teasdale was brave enough to spend her whole life fighting many prejudices of her time. At age of thirteen, Lucille had already decided to become a doctor to the poor. She enrolled at university and became a surgeon. Strong and determined, Lucille never drew back from a challenge. And, with her husband, also a doctor, she moved to Uganda and turned a small mission hospital into one of the best non-profit hospitals in Equatorial Africa.


Ilaria Ferramosca (author) is a comics and fiction writer. He wrote the graphic novels Sulla Collina (Tunué) and Lea Garofalo (BeccoGiallo) and also wrote short stories and a children’s novel.

Chiara Abastanotti (illustrator) draws comics and illustrations for various Italian publishing houses, organizes educational workshops, collaborates with some theater companies for the creation of animated sets and since 2018 she has been teaching Comics at the International School of Comics.
