In a corner of the world, among the wrinkles of cement appeared, a solitary flower. Every day with her yellow watering can, the little Teresa takes care of it. Until, on a cart pulled by impetuous horses, a bully king arrives: “This flower now belongs to me: I take it with me. And if you don’t like it, I’m ready to go to war!”. Through a poetic and evocative story, Alberto Pellai offers us the story of a small flower disputed as the inevitable script of all wars. Soldiers, bombs and missiles put in danger the flower now abandoned, which strips petal after petal, until there remains only an empty stem and they all cry, including the kin. Because war only leaves defeat, death and destruction and only makes fear grow. But if we learn to take care of the flower of life, the stem can return to bloom.
